What Is SEC Form F-X?

SEC Form F-X is an important filing used to designate a U.S. agent for service of process when certain foreign issuers or other non-U.S. persons file Forms F-8, Form F-10, Form F-80, or Form 40-F, certain Canadian tender offer schedules, Regulation A offering statements by Canadian issuers, or certain Form CB submissions with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

This form is typically filed in conjunction with another SEC submission rather than on a fixed periodic schedule. It is event-driven and filed as needed when a covered filer makes a qualifying filing, and it generally must be submitted electronically through EDGAR in accordance with Regulation S-T.
